Welwyn Hatfield’s Choice for May-
A Conservative Council Tax Freeze
Vs more Labour Tax and Spend
With the local Borough Council elections approaching, the Welwyn Hatfield Conservatives offer eighteen candidates standing up for their communities on 22nd May, the same day as the European elections. They will be contesting in every corner of the Borough to continue a legacy of running an effective council that provides tax payers good value for money and freezes council tax.
The Conservatives’ candidates are truly representative of our community and come from all walks of life, with a mixture of experienced and local campaigners standing for election including; a former social worker, local parents, chartered accountants and project managers, all offering a wealth of experience for the benefit of the Borough. The list of the prospective councillors and their respective wards featured on this page.
The Conservatives will be campaigning off of the back of a proven track record of protecting hardworking peoples’ money, best shown in yet another Council Tax Freeze for the 5th consecutive year running. Labour offer the alternative of more tax and spend and Welwyn Hatfield residents will be wary about letting them do to our council what they did to our country, as we recover from Labour’s Great Recession. With a varied mixture of backgrounds of each of the eighteen candidates, the Conservative team will help to continue the hard work and achievements of the last few years. Their commitment to the local community makes them stand out from the opposition.
Conservative Group and election agent Jonny Ball said, “I’m proud of the record of Conservative councillors in the Borough. They have done a tremendous job keeping Council Tax frozen for 5 years running and below inflation years-previous, as the country recovers from Labour’s Great Recession. We are starting to see the green shoots now of a brighter future and by electing a Conservative Councillor on 22nd May, residents can be confident that their day-to-day lives will continue to see notable changes in the time to come. Voting for anyone else, will simply mean a Labour council is a closer reality and we must not let them do to our council once again, what they did to our country.”
Conservatives are the only Party contesting every single vacancy in the Borough, proving that our candidates represent every corner of our community giving every voter the choice to chose a brighter future for Welwyn Hatfield.
