At a recent meeting of the council's Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel, Conservative councillors unanimously backed a motion to protect our Green Belt and fight overdevelopment in Welwyn Hatfield.
Cllr. Dr. Sunny Thusu's motion to reject the Planning Inspector's assertion that Welwyn Hatfield should include 15,200 new homes in its local plan gained cross party support, and the panel resolved to recommend the motion to the Cabinet.
In contrast to this strong, decisive action, floundering Lib Dem councillors couldn't make their mind up. At various points in the meeting, they said that they wanted a lower number in the plan, but voted against our plan to achieve these lower numbers.
This proves again that it's Conservative councillors who can be trusted to take action and stand up for people.
