The Tournament was held by the charity CHILD UK who received an overwhelming response of young people ready to get involved. Even more people than anticipated came on the night - over 40 young people, with a big spread of ages. Due to the breadth of ages, including under 9s, two teams of this age played their own games.
There were also two teams of under 15s which played and a team made up of over 15s and CHILD UK employees.
Trophies were presented to two teams who each won a match: Panshanger Under 15s and Lemsford Under15s, by Councillor John Dean, Leader of the Council and Councillor Irene Dean.
Councillor Darren Bennett, who organised the event, said: “It was a great success. It was good to see the age range of participants, even though it was a little unexpected! I want to thank CHILD UK for running the football on the night for us. I hope to make this an even bigger and better event next year, alongside the established Moonlight Football sessions.”
